CHOICES is a cooperative effort of the five regional Area Agencies on Aging, which provide Connecticut residents with direction to benefit and support programs dealing with aging issues, and the Elderly Services Division of the department of Social Services. Each region also sponsors a network of trained volunteer counselors who are available to meet with seniors, other Medicare beneficiaries, or their families at sites throughout the state. They assist beneficiaries with billing problems, coverage issues, Medigap policy comparisons, in addition to providing a wide range of other information to assist beneficiaries in making informed choices about health insurance matters. Counselors do not sell insurance!
